I guess I will have to keep repeating this n+1 story.
In 2006, the head of our commerce non-profit, organising events in the center of Ghent, BE, wanted to move to the USA.
He'd been planning this for YEARS.
He finally managed to sell his jewelry and went to LA to check it out, to prospect.
He went with his whole family.
Mind you: This is 2006.
He came back, disgusted.
Calling the USA a "police state".
He eventually emigrated to Toronto, CN, opening a Chocolatery.
This is real, folks. in 2006, the USA was already known in Europe as a "police state".

The Yalta Conference is often viewed as a disaster for Europe because it allowed the Soviet Union to establish control over Eastern Europe, leading to the spread of communism and the division of the continent during the Cold War.
The agreements made at Yalta, particularly regarding the future of Poland and other Eastern European nations, were seen as a betrayal by many, as they did not guarantee the promised democratic elections and self-determination for these countries.
