“Lolo” - poster for our award-winning documentary short film. Releasing 8.23.21
What started out as a desire to capture a glimpse of my Grandfather’s story of immigrating to America (so that our daughter could hear these stories), eventually turned into making it a whole short documentary… then turned into well heck it looks pretty cool let’s enter into festivals… and now turned into 15 film festival wins and counting. I get teary-eyed at the notion that people are getting to hear my Grandfather’s story let alone acknowledging it. A story rarely portrayed in cinema. We’re excited to start rolling it out publicly, starting with this poster, a trailer, and a release of the film on our channels this Monday Aug 23rd (my Grandpa’s birthday). So grateful to the crew for making this come to life. And once again thank you to the below festivals for recognizing this film.

Yesterday, a dream project of ours was finally announced. Since 2019 we’ve been working on an animated short film with Disney, told entirely through music and dance. And on March 5th, “Us Again” will play in theaters before Raya. It will later go to Disney+ in June. There are so many levels to which our hearts explode with joy when thinking about this coming to life, particularly that we can watch our daughter watch this - and that watching the shorts before the Disney films have always been something we’ve deeply cherished - but this film and the village of people who helped bring it to life, are so special. Thank you Zach, Brad and the team for believing in us. The Disney dork in us is floating on animated clouds above space mountain.
