Hey friends. I know it's been a few weeks since SpaceWeek, and I haven't been streaming many launches/events. I'm... figuring some things out in my life. I've been depressed, busy with my kids, I was laid off from my job, I'm tired and lack motivation/energy/hope. I'm "safe", don't worry, but I'm not productive right now. I apologize. I don't know when or if SpaceWeek and live streams will resume. The Chill Space music stream will continue, as always.

- Sun, Feb 5 @ 4:12 am EST (09:12 UTC) - Russian Proton-M launches Elektro-L No. 4 geostationary weather satellite from Baikonur. No live stream. Fun fact: For the past couple of years, I've been gathering daily ultra-resolution images from various satellites, including Elektro-L No. 2. I haven't yet posted the Elektro time lapses on my other channel@RawEarth8K, but I will do so at some point.
- Sun, Feb 5 at a time TBD, SpaceX *might* be launching the geostationary communications satellite Amazonas Nexus for Spanish company Hispasat. The launch date is being reported differently by different sources (Feb 5, June, "mid-2023"), so I doubt this one will be launching on Feb 5.

Important channel update. Yesterday morning I was demonetized again by YouTube. This means no more channel memberships, custom emojis, badges, SuperChat/Super Stickers, integrated merch shelf, or revenue of any kind. This is like the 5th time I've been demonetized. I likely won't seek remonetization, ever. I am defeated. YouTube has repeatedly made it clear that they are unwilling to accept my channel model. Patreon, PayPal, and the merch store are still and always available, for those who wish to support the channel (links below). However, be aware that I also plan to take a break from live streaming. I don't know for how long.
The YouTube platform mistreats and discriminates against creators - sometimes inadvertently, but often intentionally. I'm angry, tired, and depressed. The ups, downs, and challenges of running this channel have taken a toll on my mental health, my family life, and my day job. I've been jerked around by the whims of this platform for 5 years now, and I've had enough. I apologize to those of you who count on my live streams for your space fix. Be assured, there are plenty of other places to watch, like the launch providers' own channels. All that's missing is the Raw Space community, which has been wonderful - truly, the reason why I kept doing it.
I plan to keep my 24/7 Chill Space music stream running, with its live chat. The Discord server will remain also. I will still upload edited videos and time lapses AS I SEE FIT. No more trying to appease the YouTube Partner Program. I will probably keep doing SpaceWeek. Even though SpaceWeek episodes are consistently the LEAST-viewed live streams on my channel, I think they're still the best thing I do here. Though it does consume my Sundays. We'll see.
I'll try to record a statement video and upload it in the next few days. May the Bennu be with you.

No SpaceWeek today. There was just one launch last week, and I need the day for myself. Expecting a launch tonight, *3* live streams on Monday, and a Falcon Heavy launch on Thursday. So, you know I love satellite time lapses, right? You're cordially invited to check out my new sister channel, "Raw Earth 8K"! youtube.com/@RawEarth8K 🌎This new channel is where I will post the ultra high-definition, 8K resolution versions of my "slow-mo time lapses" that you may be familiar with from my Chill Space 24/7 stream.
I've been wanting to upload the full-res videos for a long time, but I didn't want to flood my main Raw Space channel with them. Now they will have a home on Raw Earth 8K! Through the use of a homegrown PowerShell script, I infused the videos with automatically-randomized music from my copyright-free library. I'm also arranging the videos from each satellite into separate playlists, so you can watch them all in sequence, and one month will flow into the next.
The first batch of videos is GOES-East, from Jan-Jun 2022. I'll be uploading many more videos spanning multiple years, from GOES-East, GOES-West, Himawari-8, Elektro-L, possibly even DSCOVR-EPIC and others.
