Salve Maria! St. Vincent de Paul, born in 1581, initially sought a comfortable life but was deeply transformed after being captured by Turkish pirates and enslaved in North Africa, where he experienced a profound conversion. Upon his release, he devoted himself to the priesthood and founded several influential charitable organizations, including the Ladies of Charity, the Congregation of the Mission, and the Sisters of Charity, dedicated to serving the poor and marginalized. His clandestine work with the Company of the Blessed Sacrament further shaped Catholic social teachings, and his initiatives left a lasting impact on the Church and society, including playing a role in the founding of Montreal. His legacy of humility, service, and faith continues to inspire today.

We would like to inform you, with a mixture of sorrow and joy, that around 2:30 a.m. today, November 1, comforted by the Sacraments of Holy Church and surrounded by his spiritual children, Msgr. João Scognamiglio Clá Dias, EP, at the age of 85, serenely gave up his soul to God in Franco da Rocha, Greater São Paulo, Brazil, after 14 years of suffering from a stroke.
His presence and beneficial activity were of great importance to every member of the Heralds of the Gospel. As the founder of our already large spiritual family, he leaves a legacy of holiness of life to millions of Catholics linked to the institution on five continents.

As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus called out to Him for mercy. Despite being rebuked by others, Bartimaeus persisted in his pleas. Jesus called Bartimaeus to Him and asked what he wanted. Bartimaeus requested to regain his sight, and Jesus, recognizing his faith, healed him. Bartimaeus immediately received his sight and followed Jesus.
