Around the world, an estimated 400,000 children are afflicted with cancer each year. St. Jude has helped push the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% when we opened to more than 80% today, but we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. That’s why St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Most importantly, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food.
