New video is up!! A personally very exciting start to a big new series!
As for the OTHER big series I've been rather quiet on... My next focus is the next Revolutionary Girl Utena video, which will be about Saionji, Nanami, and Touga. I'll still be doing the monthly video over on Patreon, some shorts, and maybe a small video or podcast between now and then (no plans either way), but otherwise this is the MAIN next focus!
For the revolution of the world!
Also, I'm on Bluesky:

Hi everyone! :) In case you missed it, the new video is OUT! It's all about Batman Beyond and my pitch for what I think the show could've done to be even better. Serum Lake jumped in to to talk about the show's tie-in comics, and the whole thing was a lot of fun to make and edit. I also adjusted the audio levels on this one after getting more feedback, so let me know if the music is too loud or quiet on this one? Anyway, I'm cooking up an anime-related video for those of y'all who are here for that, so stay tuned.

Heyy~ Keep an eye out for my new video on Batman Beyond, which drops in 1 week! Howeverrrrr, if you want to check it out early, the entirety of "The Untapped Potential of Batman Beyond" is up NOW on Patreon for $1 supporters. This new video is (at least in my mind) an indirect follow-up to my prior Batman the Animated Series video and Teen Titans overviews, but it's also very much its own thing and was super fun put together. :) I'm excited for everyone to see it!

Channel update time! ~
First of all, if you're following for that sweet, sweet Twin Peaks discussion content, earlier today I uploaded my third appearance on the Creamed Corn and the Universe podcast. Big thank you goes out to Colin for bringing me on again to talk about the character Annie Blackburn. It's one of my favorite Twin Peaks podcast episodes I've ever recorded, and it's always great to be back in that place both wonderful and strange.
For everyone else, rest assured I'm at work on multiple different projects at the moment. I don't want to guarantee certain release dates, but one video is going to be about Batman Beyond (which was also made by Teen Titans TV series creator Glen Murakami), whereas the other two are anime-related. I'm gonna keep mostly quiet for now on the bigger of the two projects, but the smaller one, and the one that likely will be released soonest, is my review of the Kunihiko Ikuhara anime Yurikuma Arashi. It's going to be a compilation/splicing of my coverage of the series that up until now had been exclusively released on Patreon for patron members.
Which brings me to my other reason for this big update post! One of my goals for the next few months is to grow the Patreon. I'm sure almost everyone here knows how helpful Patreon is for creators, especially smaller creators. When my Teen Titans and Peridot videos took off with the algorithm last year, YouTube gave me a financial boost from the ad revenue, but that isn't reliable or consistent for me, and I may reach a point soon where my financial situation could force me to get a second job, and therefore I'll have less time to devote to making videos.
This doesn't mean I'd quit YouTube, rest assured, but it may mean a significant delay in uploads and decrease in the channel's growth. Every person that helps me out on Patreon, by pitching in $1 or more per month, helps me and the channel immensely, since the more I am backed by Patreon, the less I have to rely on YouTube's algorithm. And every member gets access to an exclusive monthly video where I discuss, analyze, and review member-nominated shows, movies, and games. I think it's a win-win: the support helps me keep creating here, and you get a whole extra video per month (+ your name in future video credits).
So if you're an Utena fan or an anime fan, stay tuned for my Yurikuma Arashi review, so you can get a taste of what the Patreon videos are like. More is to come soon!

Hey everyone, could you do me a quick favor?
If you've checked out either "Peridot and Autism", "Are these Teen Titans comics season 6?", or "Class, Capitalism, and Cartoon Batman" - could you let me know how good the music volume is, compared to the narration and clip audio?
While making those videos, I balanced the audio according to how it sounded wearing headphones, but I'm wondering how it sounds with everyone's set up. If the music has been too quiet, then I'll turn it up in the future.
Thanks so much! :)

New video out! It's all about Batman the Animated Series and the intersecting themes of corporate greed and crime in Gotham City. It was as fun to make as it was challenging, and I'd love to hear people's thoughts! Including on the audio front... Was the background music loud enough for you with your speaker/headphone set up? And of course, if you've seen BTAS before, what are your thoughts on the show?

Happy New Year to those celebrating! In case you missed it, yesterday I posted the latest Teen Titans video, all about the comics that continue the story even past season 5 of the animated series, and today I started a Patreon!
For $1 each month, your name will be at the end of the credits of future videos, you'll receive early access to videos and project drafts, and you'll also get an exclusive video once per month in the "Snake Eye Impressions" series. You can also suggest movies/shows for me to check out for those exclusive videos, so hey, if that's up your alley, check out the link below:

Hellloooo everyone! I have made a Patreon page. I teased out the idea a short while back, and it sounds like there's some interest, so let me climb onto my self-promotional soap box for a quick second...
I feel very fortunate to be able to make any money through YouTube for my videos. 2023 became the first year where I made a single cent on anything I've made for the channel, and seeing support on that kind of level really surprised me. I can only hope that in 2024 any of my videos take off like the Teen Titans ones or the Peridot video. However, relying on money from YouTube ad revenue is... fickle. And I don't want to make content primarily to chase trending topics or what I think will "perform well" with some phantom algorithm. I'm someone who spends hundreds of hours on videos, often on pretty niche topics, and I want to continue making videos on topics I love, even if they're not "algorithm-friendly". And, you guessed it: that's where Patreon comes in.
I work full time and make videos in my spare time. Patreon is now going to be another avenue for supporting this hobby of mine and these passion projects. If you don't currently have the funds to support me financially, I 100% understand, and please know that simply watching my videos and giving them a thumbs-up or a comment is MORE than enough and is already greatly appreciated.
However, should you decide to join the Patreon, for as little as $1:
* Your name will be featured in the credits for upcoming videos.
* You will receive early access to some new videos, previews, and early drafts.
* You will be able to suggest new movies/shows for me to check out each month.
* You will receive an exclusive "Snake Eye Impressions" video each month in which I discuss some of the movies and series you've suggested I check out. These are semi-scripted videos with less visual editing, because my goal is to never gate fully-edited videos permanently behind a pay-wall. However, these "Snake Eye Impressions" videos are one way I can still give you something cool in return for your financial support.
If you're interested in becoming a member of the Patreon, please check out the link below! :)
