As of today, May 7, 2025, jury selection in Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial is expected to conclude. The court aims to finalize a panel of 12 jurors and six alternates, with opening statements scheduled for May 12 .
During the selection process, several prospective jurors were dismissed. One was excused after expressing the belief that Combs could "buy his way out of jail," citing skepticism about justice for wealthy individuals. Another was dismissed due to daily marijuana use, which could impair judgment .
Additionally, a key witness, referred to as "Victim-3," may not testify, as prosecutors have been unable to contact her, prompting a warning from the judge to the prosecution team .
Combs, 55, remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He faces multiple charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transporting individuals for prostitution. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The trial is anticipated to last approximately eight weeks, with significant public and media attention expected throughout the proceedings.
