Paris intends to name a sports facility in honor of Rebecca Cheptegei, the Ugandan Olympic marathon runner who died after she was set on fire by her ex-boyfriend.
Mayor Anne Hidalgo on Friday announced plans to pay tribute to Cheptegei. The proposal will be discussed by elected city officials in October.
"She dazzled us here in Paris. We saw her -- her beauty, her strength, her freedom -- and it was in all likelihood her beauty, strength and freedom which were intolerable for the person who committed this murder.
"Paris will not forget her. We'll dedicate a sports venue to her so that her memory and her story remains among us and helps carry the message of equality, which is a message carried by the Olympic and Paralympic Games."

I have seen men spotting women in powerlifting competitions, looking out for their safety. I have seen men work as guides for visually impaired female athletes. Men who use their physical strength and speed to assist women in sports. I commend these men! Rather than stealing from female athletes, they help them.

I am back from my vacation in the UK and ready to report on the Tickle v Giggle verdict. It is Friday at 9am Sydney time. This is Thursday for many of us. The respective times are listed. Tickle v Giggle is a very important case and not just for Australian women. Sall has fought hard to protect women's spaces and to keep them female only. Sall Grover was targeted by an entitled male who couldn't handle being told no. Praying for a good outcome or female spaces may become a thing of the past.

Who would have thought that at the 2024 Olympics, we would see men competing against women in boxing? Of all sports! You can't tell me that the 'slippery slope' isn't real. We have seen it played out before our very eyes. The next step in 'progressiveness' is for women to lose their lives in the name of being inclusive.
My heart breaks for Angela Carini, who was robbed of a fair shot at success at the Olympics. Imane Khelif's next fight is on Saturday, August 3. May God help the woman who is selected to fight him. I hope she refuses.

Angela Carini, who represents Italy in the 2024 Olympics, is set to fight Imane Khelif on August 1st. Khelif was banned from competing at the World Championships after DNA tests were ordered and revealed he has XY chromosomes. Mexican boxer Brianda Tamara fought him in 2022. After hearing of his disqualification she wrote on X:
'When I fought with her I felt very out of my depth'. Her blows hurt me a lot, I don't think I had ever felt like that in my 13 years as a boxer, nor in my sparring with men. Thank God that day I got out of the ring safely, and it's good that they finally realized.'
The IOC has also cleared Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu-Ting for Paris 2024, he was also banned from the world championships after it was revealed he was male. Umar Kremlev, president of the International Boxing Association (IBA), claimed the tests had proven the athletes β including Khelif and Yu-Ting β had 'XY chromosomes'. He said they 'uncovered athletes who were trying to fool their colleagues and pretend to be women'.
Women should refuse to compete against men but if Angela goes ahead with the fight, I pray it goes well and she gets through the fight safely.
Shame on the IOC for putting women in danger!

Madonna Chism Pinkard was fired from WFMJ TV for sharing a straight pride meme. The community relations director has worked at the NBC affiliate network since 2004. Shortly after sharing the meme, Pinkard received a complaint. The person said it was like asking for a 'White History Month'. She deleted the post after realizing there was some backlash. The network promised to conduct an investigation and Pinkard was fired soon after.
