No livestream today (9/14/25). I'm up in northern Iowa where I grew up. I did some tractor spotting today. 😃 Brand new John Deere 9RX! Grew up on a small farm. We didn't have anything like this back then. I get back late Saturday and hope to stream next Sunday. Take care everyone!

Rained out! Not a great weekend in the Tampa Bay area. Rained most of Saturday and now most of Sunday. All that rain in the screen shot courtesy of Klystron 9 is moving ENE. We'll see how this week goes, maybe a popup stream Wed. or Friday. Enjoy your Sunday evening folks and see ya soon!

Sorry folks, no stream this evening (7-27-25). I was going to wait out the heat and stream later than normal. Then the thunderstorms started popping up. August (its almost Aug.) is the worst for hot days in Tampa. We'll try again next week. And if we catch a "cooler" day this week maybe with early storms, I can make it out to TPA. Take care folks!!

A couple of pictures from my phone of the smoke coming from the fire training at TPA this morning. It got to about twice the size of this! I wouldn't doubt it caused some 911 calls from folks unaware of the training. Pilots I bet were probably told to let their passengers know what was going on so no one freaked out. It took place between the parallels on the north end of the airport.

Bad boys, Bad boys! Tampa International Airport Police paid us a visit Sunday during the live stream. Turns out someone thought our setup was suspicious and called them. I put my internet source on a tripod (not extended) on the roof of my car. There was a runway swap. We drove slowly to the opposite end of the garage with that on the roof and one door half open with the camera tripod sticking out. :) I saw someone looking at us curiously . Probably did look a bit odd. The officer was really nice. TPA is really great accommodating plane spotters!!!

A diversion from video to audio has been keeping me busy. LiveATC from KTPA is active again! Started a new feed of the Tower frequency (119.5) Search for KTPA on LiveATC.net. I hope to add a couple scanners for the approach and departure frequencies That may take a couple months to get that going though. Thanks to LiveATC.net for providing this service to share this with avgeeks around the world.

HQ'd in Tampa, FL. I tend to do mostly evening and night time plane spotting with a random morning stream from time to time. With the Florida heat and a full time job, it's about the only time I can get out to Tampa International. After doing recorded videos for a couple years, I recently just made the jump to live streaming from TPA. I'm not the most polished live streamer. I have some rough ones here and there. This is still just a hobby. I have no expectation of being a"big" streamer. But, If you enjoy what you see, hit the subscribe button and turn on notifications.
The channel name comes from the area code of Tampa being 813. Odd name maybe, but I like it. If your not local to Tampa, it probably seems really odd. :)
