The channel has unfortunately been hit with a strike due to the use of footage from a video — even though it was labeled as "free to use" in the description. As a result, the channel’s visibility has dropped significantly, and I think the recent episodes might not be showing up for you anymore.

If this post even reaches you, let us know and check out the episodes you might’ve missed.

Barbara Newhall Follett was born in 1914 into a household filled with literature and art. Her father, Wilson Follett, was a respected literary critic, and her mother was a writer. From a young age, Barbara was no ordinary child. She was obsessed with books, imagination, and writing. At the age of nine, she wrote her first novel, ā€œThe House Without Windows,ā€ a story about a young girl who escapes the human world to live in nature, surrounded by forests and rivers.
The book was published in 1927 and took the literary world by surprise. Critics praised her talent, with some even saying she was destined to become one of the greatest writers of the century.

But life had other plans.

At the age of twelve, Barbara published her second novel, ā€œThe Voyage of the Norman D,ā€ inspired by her real-life adventures with sailors at sea. She became known as a child prodigy, featured in newspapers and invited to radio shows. Yet, beneath the surface of fame, her life was quietly unraveling.

In 1930, her father — her role model — abandoned the family to run away with another woman. This event shattered Barbara emotionally and financially. She was forced to abandon her literary ambitions and take mundane office jobs as a typist just to help her mother pay the bills. During this period, depression took hold of her life. In letters to friends, she often wrote:

"I feel suffocated in this foolish world. Life has lost its meaning. Nothing excites me anymore."

In 1934, Barbara married Nicholas Atherton, a dull and conventional man, the complete opposite of her free-spirited, adventurous nature. She constantly complained that she felt trapped and suffocated in their small, monotonous life together.

On the night of December 7th, 1939, Barbara and Nicholas had another of their frequent arguments. After the fight, Barbara got up, dressed lightly without a coat, without money, without a handbag.
She said only:

ā€œI’m going out for a walk to clear my head.ā€
She walked out the door… and was never seen again.

What followed only deepened the mystery.
Nicholas didn’t report her missing for two full weeks.
He didn’t tell her mother until months later.
When asked why, he said:

ā€œShe’d done this before; I thought she’d come back.ā€
But the truth was… she had never done this like that before.

The police barely took the case seriously. The world was too busy with the outbreak of World War II to care about a missing young woman, no matter how talented. Barbara’s mother began her own investigation, searching hospitals, mental institutions, churches, even morgues… with no results.
Barbara’s bank account was untouched.
No letters were sent.
No body was found.
No hotel check-ins, no travel records, nothing.
It was as if she had simply vanished from existence.

Speculations started:
Had she run away? Started a new life under a new name? Perhaps. But she had no money, no documents, and left without taking a single belonging.
Had she taken her own life? Some of her old letters hinted at deep sadness, but Barbara’s connection to nature and her dreams of freedom made this possibility seem contradictory.
Or… had Nicholas been involved? His cold behavior, his delays, his lack of concern raised suspicions.
But… there was no evidence. No confession. No body.

Years passed. Barbara’s name faded into the footnotes of literary history…
The girl who once wrote about escaping into nature disappeared from the world as if she had walked into one of her own stories… never to return.

To this day, no one knows where Barbara went.
No one has found her body.
No one has ever heard from her again.
She simply… vanished.

In early 1911, in the town of West Crowley, Louisiana, doors were locked and curtains were drawn.
No one dared to step outside.
A killer was on the loose—he had butchered more than five entire families.
But that wasn’t the most terrifying part.
Detective LaCoste, while reviewing old case files, uncovered something chilling:
A series of murders... same method, same signature.
The twist?
They had happened nearly forty years earlier.
Could it be the same killer?
