I grew up in the outdoors and majored in outdoor recreation in college. I was a gear junkie and outdoor freak who adopted all the going paradigms that synthetics are the bomb.
However I had a conversion experience after realizing that wool actually works BETTER than synthetic and down, and increases sleep quality and thus hiking performance.
This made me rethink my entire gear set and how I was approaching the outdoors. I would spend the next years experimenting and testing a new style of backpacking using mostly natural fibers and invent an entire system that ROCKS.
