ಒಂದು ನೀತಿಕಥೆಯು ಒಂದು ನೀತಿಕಥೆಯಿಂದ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿದೆ, ಎರಡನೆಯದು ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು , ಸಸ್ಯಗಳು, ನಿರ್ಜೀವ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಟರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ ಅಥವಾ ಮಾನವಕುಲದ ಇತರ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಗಿಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ, ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಕಥೆಯು ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಾಗಿ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
