A lot of news coming from YG Entertainment today.
• The iKON members (Kim Jinhwan, Bobby, Song Yunhyeong, Koo Junhoe, Donghyuk, and Chanwoo) have decided to leave YG Entertainment. The iKON members, and YG Entertainment, have mutually decided to end the group’s contract. There was no specification as to whether the group would be disbanding, or whether they would be continuing group-activities under another company.
• Actor, Kang Dongwon will not be renewing his contract with YG Entertainment.
• YG Entertainment have dismissed rumours claiming that BLACKPINK’s management would be handled by The Black Label for future activities. Regarding the rumours, YG Entertainment simply said: “it’s not true”.
• YG Entertainment have released a teasing poster of their new girl-group. Along with the caption “COMING SOON … 2023.01.01 0AM (KST)”, there are seven female silhouettes in the poster. See the poster below.

Lee Kwang Soo will be leaving Running Man.
His agency - KINGKONG by STARSHIP Entertainment & SBS have announced that his final recording will take place on May 24th 2021.
They have revealed that he has been receiving physical therapy (since his injury, in a car accident last year) while recording Running Man. Despite his best efforts, he struggled to maintain his top condition for the shoots.
After long discussions with the production team and the Running Man members, it was decided that it would best for Lee Kwang Soo to prioritise his health and well-being - and ultimately for him to leave the show.
“He promises to come back healthier and happier.”
I’ve been watching Running Man for a good nine years or so now, every week - not missing a single episode. I still remember the first episode I ever watched was Episode 150 - the superhero special. It was absolutely hilarious and I think it’s fair to say that without Kwang Soo, the show would not be where they are today. He plays a very, very big role in the show and has never failed to disappoint the viewers with laughter.
However, I completely understand that health comes first, and I hope he fully recovers before returning to screens with whatever project he has ongoing, whether be it a movie, drama or even a return to variety shows.
I’m sure he will keep a good and close relationship with all the members and staff. He will be greatly missed and I hope the show will be able to continue well without him. I’m confident that he will return to Running Man from time-to-time like what they did with Gary, but it must’ve been too painful for him to film every week. Kwang Soo always put 100% into the show even if it meant he would suffer from pain or embarrassment, and for him to step down like this, it must’ve taken an incredible amount of pain.
I really do wish him all the best in his future projects, and I hope the Running Man members won’t be upset for too long - and I am sure that he will return to Running Man as a guest from time-to-time.
RECOMMENDATION.
If you watch K-Dramas and you haven’t seen Penthouse: War in Life yet, then you are missing out!
In my opinion, it is one of the best, if not the best, dramas I have seen in the past few years.
It’s thrilling, exciting, crazy, yet amazing.
Absolutely unpredictable - even with a thousand guesses, you wouldn’t be able to predict what happens at every twist and turn there is.
There is confirmation of there to be three seasons following the large success of the first season. The first season ended with a nationwide viewership rating of 28.8%! The most recent episode of season two ended with a nationwide viewership rating of 26.6%! If that doesn’t tell you how popular this drama is then I don’t know what will.
It is absolutely crazy, and definitely worth a watch - you’ll be amazed at how far a drama can go.

It has been announced that IU and SUGA (from BTS) has collaborated for IU's new digital single being released on May 6th 2020! EDAM Entertainment (IU's agency) has announced that she will be making her comeback next month alongside with a music video.
EDAM Entertainment further confirmed that IU and SUGA (from BTS) collaborated in creating her upcoming song.
They stated:
"As musicians of the same age, the two singers were able to relate to one another and use that as a foundation for exchanging opinions. They created their own unique synergy, which is reflected in their song."
Note: The music video has already been filmed.
Although there are reports and rumours going round, it has not been confirmed yet as to whether SUGA (from BTS) only participated in the production of the song, or whether he will feature on the song himself.

Former f(x) member, Sulli, has been found dead in her home. She was found by her manager. Police are still investigating the tragic incident and are looking for any suicide notes.
SM Entertainment have not yet responded to the incident.
I will keep you updated in the replies below.
I first saw Sulli in a Running Man episode with Ji Sung Park and Koo Ja Cheol. She seemed very bright, pretty and funny and I have been following her since then. In my opinion, she has received harsh criticisms recently and I genuinely felt sorry for her.

Seungri (from BIGBANG) announces his retirement from the entertainment industry! This means he will no longer be part of BIGBANG and he is no longer associated with YG Ent. legally.

“This is Seungri.
At this point in time, I think it is best if I retire from the entertainment industry. Due to the criticism and trouble I have caused within the public being so severe, I have decided to retire. I will also be faithfully cooperating with the issues being investigated in order to reveal all the doubts and suspicions circulating.
For the past month and a half, I have been receiving backlash and hatred from the citizens of this country. Currently being investigated by many detectives, I am also being coined as a societal traitor (country’s traitor). With everything going on, I cannot bare to allow myself to put those around me in harm’s way just so I alone could survive.
I would like to genuinely thank all my fans, both Korean and overseas, who have showered me with love for the past 10+ years. In order to protect both YG Ent. and BIGBANG’s reputation/honour, I feel that it is best if I end it here.
