Hello everyone, I'm back to the channel! I uploaded my first video in 4 months today covering the Crystal Palace game (and why Dalot's role as the new false fullback is changing how Ten Hag's system works), but the video was taken down by YT due to copyright issues! 😔😔😔

Unfortunately there's not much I can do at the moment (regarding that specific video). I will be back with videos covering our upcoming games (not 100% sure about FC Twente but definitely the Tottenham game this weekend).

Sorry for the inconvenience but we move! 💪💪💪

Hey everyone!

I have some exciting personal news to share with all of you—I'm getting married in just a few weeks! 🥳💍 In preparation of this big day, I've decided to take a break from content creation over the summer.

I realize I should have communicated this to you all sooner, and for that, I sincerely apologize. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

I'll be back in action sometime in September, which means I will unfortunately miss some of the first few games of the 2024/25 season. I am, however, BUZZING with excitement about all the new and bigger things coming to the channel this coming season and can't wait to start posting again! 🚀⚽

I can't thank you enough for your continuous support over the last two years. Each one of you tuning in means the world to me, and I'm so grateful for our community. ❤️

I hope you guys enjoy your summer, and stay tuned for what's coming! See you in September!

Best,
Footy with an Edge

PS: INEOS seem to be moving MAD this summer. Super excited about Zirkzee & Yoro so far, and looking forward to De Ligt, Frimpong, another CM/CDM. Also really looking forward to the outgoings that we will approve - looking like Lindelof, AWB, Maguire could all leave!?!? Let me know your thoughts below 👇👇👇

SCOOOBY DOOOOO!!! What a CRAZY COMEBACK in FERGIE TIME from Scott BLOODY McTominay!

McSauce was on absolute flames in those last 10 minutes on the pitch. To get 2 chances and take them both in THAT fashion was CLINICAL. THIS IS WHAT FOOTBALL IS ABOUT!!!

No Tactical Analysis today because I'm travelling for the next 2.5 weeks or so. But I have 5 talking points (Positives and Negatives) from that game for you guys here:

1) *GARNACHO* - I know Scotty McSauce will take all the plaudits for the 2 goals, but look at Garnacho's involvement in that first goal! Garnacho gets backed into a corner by 2 Brentford players and instead of running into them and taking a corner, he gets chalk on his boots and cuts it back with his left foot. This kid is still VERY RAW, but EVERY SINGLE TIME he gets on the pitch he makes something happen! There's this agility and electricity about him that nobody at our club has - even Rashford at his best can be stiff and mechanical. I'm not saying we should START Garnacho for 90 minutes, but he DEFINITELY DESERVES 30 minutes off the bench EVERY SINGLE GAME!

2) *ONANA* - There's no defending his form at the moment. He's forgotten to do the basics of shot stopping, and that goal today was very similar to the first one we gave up at Bayern. Peter Schmeichel explained it at half-time - he didn't dive with his hand close enough to the ground, and that's what let it slip under his fingers. But we need to understand something here: Being the United #1 is the HARDEST PLAYER JOB IN FOOTBALL! The amount of pressure and scrutiny on our Goalkeepers is PAR NONE. Even De Gea, who's undoubtedly our 3rd best keeper of all time was very poor in his first 6 months or so. And even after De Gea won 4 player of the season awards, got 17 clean sheets and got the Golden Glove, he was SCRUTINIZED HEAVILY till the day he left the club. To replace ANY keeper at United is difficult but to replace a top 3 GK who was an AMAZING shot stopper is going to feel like the weight of the world on your shoulders. We just need to stay patient with Onana - there is no other option.

3) *RASHFORD* - Rashford is a shell of himself. Up until the Arsenal game he was SHOOT, SHOOT, SHOOT. He got a LOT of stick after that game, specifically focusing on the lack of chances created for Hojlund, and since then it's consistently PASS, PASS, PASS! I feel like there's no balance in his game, because there's no balance in his decision making. I have no doubts that he plays for the badge, and that he can be WORLD CLASS for United, but he needs to work on CONSISTENCY to be considered on the level of Salah, Vini Jr, Mahrez (at City) etc. Right now he's not even at the level of Jack Grealish, Anthony Gordon, Almiron etc. Rashford is one of my favorite players at United for the last SEVERAL years so I REALLY HOPE he get's back to his best!

4) *AMRABAT* - He looked much better in midfield today. A very neat and tidy player who can be incisive through the lines to get it to Hojlund or the wingers. His technical skills are not quite as good as Eriksen, but he provides a LOT more defensive and physical abilities that makes him overall MUCH better at the 8/6 roles than Eriksen. I'm sure with more games and better match fitness, he will become a real asset to the team - a 7/10 every game. We don't have enough of those players at the moment, so we should CHERISH this man while we can.

5) *ERIK TEN HAG* - He really GOT AWAY WITH ONE today. There is no logical reason for us to win that game. Scotty McMayo pulled a Rabbit out of his A** to get Ten Hag 3 points, and probably kept him in a job for a few more games. The team is fragmented, low on confidence, energy and intensity. Every single player seems so worried about making mistakes that they can't focus on moving the ball quickly in the middle and final thirds. Ball movement is very labored and predictable to the point where we have to throw 8-9 bodies up and leave ourselves vulnerable at the back. I know a significant portion of the fanbase is staring to turn on Ten Hag - so I ask you guys this - WHY do you want to SACK TEN HAG?
--> Is it because you believe he's a shit manager? Because if you really look at the 8 games we've played this season, we should have lost all 8 of them! Do you really think Ten Hag is as bad as the results & performances are showing?
--> Is it because you believe that will change our form? Sacking Ten Hag ATM will do nothing to the team. They might have a "new manager bounce" for a few games but we will still have the issue of "when the going gets tough, this team folds like a house of cards".
--> Is it because you believe there are better managers out there who can make us win a PL/UCL title? Well, who is it then? I don't see a better manager out there that can come in and make us win things right now. Ten Hag is the best manager we've had in a LONG, LONG time and we have to give him time to prove us wrong. 46 games is not enough time when the club's been rotting for 10+ seasons.

My only hope is that the Glazers sell the club before Ten Hag get's into Sackable form.

PS: No more excuses for Ten Hag to play Rashford for 90 minutes. He HAS to bring Garnacho on for 30 min no matter what.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace finishes 0-1 to Palace...

We had NO CREATIVITY in that game. Very slow, labored and pedestrian football from United. I would love to have made a video for you guys but there's literally NOTHING to analyze from that performance...

Some quick thoughts here though:
1) AMRABAT - looks neat and tidy for the most part, but his medium to long range passing was sloppy today. I'm sure it's a fitness thing more than anything else, but he was decent enough at Left Back today.

2) MOUNT - Defensively a decent game with 4 tackles, 1 Interception, and TWELVE duels won (very surprising), but not enough cutting edge in the final third. He seems like a player that needs someone to create chance for him that he can get on the end of. Gives me Lingard vibes when I watch him (better than Lingard but similar profile). Need to see more of what Ten Hag sees in him, because I'm not seeing it at the moment.

3) RASHFORD - Something is wrong with Marcus Rashford. I don't know if it's an injury, fitness/fatigue or just mental exhaustion from the pressure/expectation on his shoulders. Looks like an ABSOLUTE SHELL of himself, and nothing is working for him right now. In the last few games, I've seen him trying to find Hojlund a bit more but even those passes aren't coming off. I think he needs some time on the bench / out of the squad so he can get back to his best.

4) GARNACHO - Looked really lively when he came on the pitch. Drops his shoulders, goes both on the outside and inside to make something happen. I really think we need to start him on the left and give him a run of games. He needs the game time, especially when Rashford is in terrible form. Let's hope Ten Hag feels the same way!

5) TEN HAG's Tactics - The whole time I was watching that game, I couldn't help but think - THIS IS THE PERFECT GAME FOR ERIKSEN! We keep playing Eriksen in tough games in midfield to control the ball, and get punished for his weak defensive abilities. But we forget that Eriksen has bags of creativity and vision and he can influence games really well when we have 60-70% possession. Eriksen for Mount at half time should have been the move, and we could have easily scored the 2 goals we needed. Plus, Palace never attacked us in 90 minutes so we could get away with Eriksen's defensive weaknesses!

Like I've been saying all season folks, we're in for a LONG and HARD season this year. I won't be surprised if we finish 8th the way things are going at the moment...
