The close helmet associated with the "Dos Aguas" garniture at the Department of Arms and Armor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I'm experimenting with some animation to hopefully put together a larger composition exploring this particular armor. c1550-1575

To complement the helmet that is currently being built I knew I needed to upgrade my old crappy mail collar to match the standard (no pun intended) of the rest of my mail. Tom at Historically Patterned Mail helped me out by patterning a collar based on English effigies of the time and cutting the panels for me from sheet. I am doing the mail assembly and the textile/leather work. The rings and rivets differ from collar to mantle, similar to many originals.

Hi Guys! Sorry for the unusually long delay. Here's a little preview of something I'm working on right now.

Hey guys! This past weekend my living history group had the honor of participating in a living history timeline event called 'Military Through the Ages' to kick off the Spring reenactment season. Here is a shot of our camp on Saturday morning that I thought you might enjoy. More photos of the event will eventually make their way on to Facebook in the coming days and weeks.
The next video is being worked on as we speak, and I think you guys will really enjoy it! I also had the opportunity to take a lot of video at our event this past weekend. A lot of people have asked me to show some of these living history events so you can see what it is we actually _do_ with all this stuff, so look for that down the road as well!

Welcome! Here you will find educational content on the arms, armor and material culture of the Medieval Era. Special care is given to providing you the most accurate and researched information I have available while busting the myths and misconceptions that surround this often romanticized time period. I am a living history interpreter specializing in late 14th and early 15th century material culture, but the channel spans much more than that. Enjoy!
