Since 1993 i am playing drums and i love to explore every aspect of sounds and tune i can create with it.
The last 10 years i spend my time with recording drums, try and fail with all kind of techniques you can use to create drums sounds. And yes, i would say i am a drum, cymbal and microphone junkie.
I try to let the drums sound as good as possible before i start to record as i am not a big fan of fancy post processing and tons of plug-ins...yes i use them, but just as long as i can afford tons of analogue gear...yes i am also a big fan of analogue gear :-)
The DAW is a nice tool, like an old tape machine, bit more handy and portable. Love the availability of possibilities but also hate the lack of decisions you have to make. There is always a way back and a thousand other opportunities to go.
Try to keep things simple while recording.
