Here's the single mantra that broke the cycle for me and powered a 100-week transformation!

'Be better today than you were yesterday'

Started a new year's resolution with this quote back in 2017, a deal with my then-boyfriend ( now partner)

The aim was simple- Let's see how my body transforms after 100 weeks.

Why 100 weeks?
Because those 4 or 6-week challenges never stuck.

The weight came right back and left me discouraged.

In the first 20 weeks, I had this recurring thought: 'Be better this week than last week.'

No competing with anyone but myself.

Looking back, I get it. It was all about showing up, again and again.

That's something a lot of fitness newbies struggle with, the pressure to be perfect all the time.

"Continuity" is more forgiving than "discipline," right?

Makes it feel like you're on a journey, not chasing some unattainable ideal.

Isn't it amazing how the words we use can change our mindset and actions?

The Night a $1.99 Safeway Chocolate Cake Almost Ended My Fitness Journey 🍰

Today I'm sharing something I've never talked about publicly. If you're a close friend, you already know this story; otherwise, buckle up.

It was week 10 of my ambitious 100-week fitness journey. I'd just had a disastrous day at work.

The system design I'd poured weeks into?

I was asked to redo it all. Imagine the stress, the feeling of failure.

So what did I do?

I drove to Safeway at midnight, tears still fresh on my cheeks, and bought my favorite $1.99 chocolate cake (the one I ate almost daily before I started my 100 Week Journey)

I sat in the parking lot and ate half of that cake.

Right then and there, I knew I was betraying my own commitment to my fitness journey.

The rest of the cake? Finished it in bed while Netflix played on. I thought I was done; there was no turning back. 🛑

The next morning I booked my first-ever call with a Health Coach.

I didn't know what to expect. It was a 1-hour paid consultation, and it was some of the best advice I have ever received.

She talked to me about the mindset behind emotional eating and introduced me to the concept of 'sustainability'—which became a cornerstone in my fitness journey - a fundamental pillar in my content.

From that point on, it was growth on growth. 📈

Was that the last time I slipped up?

No.

But those stories are for another day.

For now, know this: We all stumble, but it's never too late to stand back up.
