As a survivor myself, this issue hits home. I was stuck in an abusive marriage because I didn't think I could afford to feed my kids without him.
I was wrong!
I left when I realized I likely wouldn't survive.
And I will FOREVER be grateful to my loved ones who helped me get out in just one day - February 14, 2008. After a root canal that morning, we packed up mine and my kids things.
Yep, a root canal on Valentine's Day and I moved out that evening. It was a transformative day!
In the US, 81% of women and 43% of men reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment and/or assault in their lifetime.
Let's make sure we vote in candidates and policies who want to prevent SA and will support survivors.
