I think there is something crazy about taking literal babies to the salon and glueing a lace front to their tender scalps. This hair style is impractical and pointless for a kid. Not to mention uncomfortable and damaging to the psyche of young black girls. I talk about the epidemic of the Lace Front Babies in my latest video.

4c hair. The beauty standard.
I see a lot of posts from women with natural hair, 4c especially, saying they are done with it because it's so 'stressful, tedious and unresponsive'. I've never used such language on/about my hair since I started my journey. Even when I didn't know anything about it, nor knew there was a 'Natural hair community'. I began with curiosity and later awe and now, pride. I don't see any alternative other than loving and enjoying my hair. I simply refuse to. And I can't wait for my hair to get even bigger so that I can walk around with my head in the clouds. Literally. Almost.

I think lace fronts on these black women detract from their beauty. The ethnic hairstyles/ afros make them look goddess-y. The silky bundles ages them and make them look like drag queens. But which do you prefer?
