🇮🇳 India’s Australia Tour Selection — A Hidden Twist 👀
India’s ODI & T20 squads have raised eyebrows for a reason.
In ODIs, the wicketkeepers are KL Rahul (1st choice) and Dhruv Jurel (backup).
In T20s, it’s Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma.
Now here’s the catch — during the recent Asia Cup, India didn’t even carry backups.
But for Australia, they’ve taken four wicketkeepers — two per format!
If KL Rahul is the preferred ODI keeper, Sanju Samson (already in the T20 squad and traveling with the team) could’ve easily been the ODI backup too.
Instead, they added Dhruv Jurel, who’s unlikely to get a game.
This isn’t about “team balance” — it’s clear internal politics.
Because if Sanju starts performing regularly in ODIs, the future return of Rishabh Pant becomes uncertain.
And when it comes to middle-order numbers — Sanju Samson’s ODI record is on par, if not better, than KL Rahul’s.
Ironically, it’s Pant who’s far behind both in ODI performance.
Why to send dhruv jurel when Sanju is already traveling for T20s?
Dhruv Jurel is unlikely to play — this seems less about team balance and more about internal politics.
Feels that Sanju will not get place in T20 world cup squad.
