IMPORTANT INFO FOR YOUR MINECRAFT ACCOUNT! Please take two minutes to read this and save yourself from being scammed/share this to someone who you want to help not get scammed.
It is becoming increasingly popular that people are losing their Minecraft accounts to verification scams which make you enter your Minecraft username, Minecraft account email, then ask you for a code in your inbox to verify. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GIVE THEM YOUR EMAIL OR THAT CODE. That is a password reset code and they are stealing your account. Once this happens it is extremely difficult to restore your account. It’s also common that these bots will ask you for two factor authentication codes if you have that enabled, so be in the practice of not giving out any code ever. Think of it like so; if they’re asking for a code in your email or from a two factor authentication app, YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED.
These scams often happen on Minecraft servers where people try and gift you things like cosmetics saying that they need account information, and they are ESPECIALLY prominent on discord servers. People will invite you to servers with “verify” bots which are scamming bots that get you to input your Microsoft email and then send you the reset code. One example of this is a server which impersonates a hypixel tourney server. If you look at the attached image, this kind of “verification” is NOT REAL. This is what a scam could look like, so be careful.
Do NOT trust people on discord to gift you things, and do NOT trust people on servers to gift you things. Most importantly, DO NOT give your Minecraft account information to ANYONE.
