You do not need to see a physician before coming in for physical therapy treatment. In Massachusetts it is your right to have direct access to physical therapy services. However, your health insurance may require you to be seen by a doctor prior to starting therapy. We always recommend that all of our patients be seen by a primary care physician or specialist.
