You know how we sometimes get caught up following the big names in therapy? Their advice can be super helpful, especially when things get tough. But here's the thing - the real magic happens when we start trusting our own gut feelings.

I've been on both sides of the couch - as an EMDR pro and as someone who's been through therapy myself. And I realized something big: it's the client's own "aha!" moments and hard work that really make the difference.

So I created something that puts all that power right in the client's hands.

That's how The Client Workbook was born. It's like a personal guide for therapy clients, complete with videos to help them along.

It’s 70 pages of exercises and insights, plus over 3 hours of video content. It's all about helping clients figure out what really clicks for them in their healing journey. Think of it as a DIY kit for getting the most out of therapy.

Oh, and for all you therapists out there - we've got you covered too! There's a way for you to use this with all your clients.

So, whether you're someone looking to shake up your own therapy experience, or a therapist wanting to try something new with your clients, are you ready to jump in and see what happens

We often blame ourselves when we can't absorb all the information thrown at us. "Something's wrong with me. I'm not getting all the material."

But here's the truth: many learning environments don't give us enough time to process and integrate new knowledge.

Integration time is a necessity for effective learning. It's the space our brains need to connect new information with existing knowledge, to truly make it our own.

Classrooms, board rooms, and life in general won’t give us the processing time we need for our own brains. It’s up to YOU to take it.

Next time you feel overwhelmed in a learning situation, remember: it's not a personal failing to need a step back to process.

As a therapist conducting thousands of EMDR sessions, I've witnessed countless transformations, but none quite as profound as the shift from restrictive to expansive love.

This shift is a universal theme that emerges in every single EMDR session I facilitate, emphasizing its fundamental importance in our emotional well-being.

I remember when I first started this journey myself, as a client of EMDR. The idea of letting go of the rigid rules I'd learned about love and worthiness felt really scary.

This fear is something I see reflected in my clients' eyes during our EMDR work, as we begin to challenge deeply ingrained patterns.

What if I become selfish? What if I lose control?

These were the questions that haunted me then, and I hear them echoed in session after session with clients as we work through the EMDR process.

But the truth is, while there's something scary about that change, the other side is pretty amazing. This is what I strive to help my clients discover through EMDR therapy.

When we dare to love ourselves expansively, we open up a world of authenticity and joy. We learn to trust our instincts, honor our feelings, and embrace our quirks.

This is the essence of the work we do in EMDR—reprogramming our minds to embrace a more expansive, authentic way of being.

This journey ripples out into every relationship we have. In EMDR sessions, we often see how this shift toward expansive self-love transforms not only the individual but their entire relational landscape.

It’s a beautiful thing to watch.

Yes, it's scary to challenge the restrictive love patterns we've known all our lives. But I promise you, the view from the other side is beautiful. This is what keeps me passionate about EMDR therapy—witnessing this transformation session after session.

It's a place where we can truly know ourselves, trust ourselves, and love ourselves just as we are. This is the ultimate goal of our EMDR work—to help each person find this place of expansive self-love.

Whether you're considering EMDR therapy or simply exploring the concept of expansive love, know that this journey, while challenging, holds the potential for profound personal transformation. It's a universal theme for a reason—because it speaks to the core of our human experience and our deepest needs for love and acceptance.

In every single EMDR session I conduct, a universal theme emerges: the transformative power of expansive self-love. Today, I'm issuing a challenge—to myself and to you. What if, just for one day, we experimented with loving ourselves expansively?

Imagine waking up and giving yourself permission to follow your instincts. To honor that urge to dance in your kitchen, to pursue that wild idea that's been nagging at you, to express that feeling you've been bottling up.

As a therapist, I've seen how we often confine ourselves with invisible rules—don't be a burden, don't ask for too much, don't be too emotional. We put on blinders, focusing only on what we think we "should" do.

But what if, for just one day, we took off those blinders? What if we allowed ourselves to daydream, to move when our bodies wanted to move, to rest when we needed rest?

I believe that's where the magic happens. That's where we truly find ourselves—not in the rigid structures we've been taught, but in the free flow of our own authentic experiences.

So, who's with me? Let's try this experiment together. For one day, let's love ourselves expansively. Let's follow our instincts, our feelings, our thoughts, our relationships, our ideas.

Let's see what we discover about ourselves when we grant ourselves that freedom. This is the kind of transformative experience we aim for in EMDR therapy, and you can start exploring it right now.

Are you with me?

To find out more about loving yourself expansively, be sure to listen in to our most recent podcast episode!

"Self-care" they say. But sometimes, taking that yoga class or spa day feels more depressing than rejuvenating.

Why? Because the contrast between that peaceful hour and the chaos waiting at home is jarring.

It's like a cruel reminder of what "normal" looks like.

The transition back to reality - to advocating, planning, and constantly being "on" for your differently-wired kid - can be brutal.

It's not that self-care isn't important. It's that for parents like us, it's complicated.

We need a new definition of self-care, one that acknowledges our unique challenges and doesn't leave us feeling more isolated. Who else feels this? Let's talk about it.
