Just had the great pleasure of running into a viewer at the local Lowe’s. Thanks so much for watching and I enjoyed meeting you very much!
Having a great time hanging out with @derinaharveyband3469 We appreciate them so much for letting us feature their music on the channel. It was awesome getting to meet them for the first time today
I cannot begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for all of you that have watched my content, subscribed, commented or liked a video. You all humble me everyday and I appreciate your support so much. This was a big milestone for us to cross, and I thank you all for allowing us to reach it!
Shout out to everyone down south being kept at the house by the weather. Last week too cold, this week too wet...... Winter in the Deep South. Stay safe everybody!
I just wanted to take a sec to thank Neil Messick over at @MessicksEquip. The other day a viewer posted a comment on one of my videos about my Kubota R640 loader. I didn't really know how to answer, and so I reached out to Neil via email, and he answered the viewers question in the comments within an hour. I thought that was a super cool thing for him to do, and I appreciate it very much.
If you have any interest in the compact tractor market, this video below was, to me, an interesting perspective, so I thought I's share it as a thanks to Messick's for helping out one of our viewers.
I just wanted to thank you all for your support of our little channel. We crossed 50,000 views a couple of days ago, and while that may be a relatively small milestone in the grand scheme of YouTube....it's a big one for me. Thanks so much to all of you for watching and engaging in our community! We are hard at work getting next week's video ready for prime time....sneak peek below :)
RE: Our Content Calendar
Hi everyone.
First off, thanks so much for all the support thus far. The fact that the channel has come this far already is amazing to me, and it is very humbling as well.
I thought I would take a moment to share our upcoming content calendar/strategy for the channel, and invite our community to share any ideas or requests for content.
We are currently scheduled to release a minimum of 2 videos per week, and we have content currently scheduled out for the next 5 weeks. Our goal is to stay at least a month ahead on content so there are no interruptions.
At the moment, our scheduled content releases at 5pm central time, Tuesday and Friday. We may move the Tuesday releases to another day, but for now we are sticking with it.
Our scheduled content is mostly jobsite videos, with a couple of shop videos here and there. We are also working on a series of "how to" videos, the first of which released today (grading with an excavator). These are what we consider cornerstone videos that will help YouTube figure out what our channel is about. These will cover the topics on operating excavators, skid steers, box blade, dump trucks, etc. We plan to release these pretty much as they get done.
I have had 2 main requests from viewers:
1) a "before, during, and after" format for jobsite videos. What did it look like before, what did we do, what did it look like after. I like this format, and we will run with it for our new jobsite content to see how it does. You should start to see that format come in fully by mid July
2) more videos specific to operating the iDig 2D system on the mini ex. I am working on a plan for that now.
Please feel free to post any requests or questions, and we will try to work them in as best we can
Thanks!
@DirtAndRocks
Welcome to the channel! Here at Dirt and Rocks, we create videos about running a small excavation business in Northern Alabama. Whether we are on the jobsite, in the shop, or running the roads, we try to provide viewers with a look into the day to day adventures of running a business and getting a hard day's work done.
