Hey everyone! In case you don't follow me on my art channel, check out this portrait I did of Superman (Christopher Reeve). It turned out great and very proud of it. It was a gift for my dad who is going through some very serious health issues right now. Please say a prayer or send healing thoughts in his direction for me. <3 - Jeff watch video on watch page

Well HOWDY everyone! It's been 6 MONTHS since my last video (of me drawing portraits), and it's been TEN MONTHS since my face was last on camera. I owe you a little explanation.
My absence has been for a couple of reasons. The MAIN REASON has been work related. I own my own online retail store, and I really needed to commit more of my time to it in order to make it grow. Trying to grow this YouTube channel and think of videos was splitting my focus and I'm the kind of guy who is either 100% focused, or I am all over the place.
The second reason for my absence has been a SERIOUS identity crisis with my channel. The StogieFarts channel was originally designed for my pipe smoking growth and experience. However, as my (lack of) attention span began to focus on other things (like my artwork), I noticed a disconnect with my channel. I have a hard time reconciling the artistic nature of my channel with the TONS of past pipe smoking videos. The two don't seem to be related to each other, and I think this sends mixed messages to my subscribers.
For example, by far the majority of my 27,000 subscribers are here for the pipe smoking topics. So if I post drawing videos, they may unsubscribe because, "What the hell is this doing on my video feed? Who is this guy? Why is he drawing?" etc.
And if you signed up to my channel to watch artistic videos, then it's the same thing. "Why is this pipe smoking guy on my video feed? Who is this guy?"
So because of this dilemma, it's been a real distraction for me to NOT post ANYTHING (because I had no idea how to please everyone).
Another driving force of unmotivation is the fact that YouTube has been de-monetizing a lot of my videos, probably because it is related to "smoking". While I don't do this for the money, it's been frustrating to see some of my most popular videos become "flagged" by some stupid robot, when previously they had been getting tens of thousands of views. That kind of takes the wind from my sails when it comes to WANTING to publish more pipe smoking content. Why do it if YouTube is not supporting that kind of thing on it's platform?
Anyway, here is what I am THINKING of doing, and invite all of you to comment and let me know your thoughts. I am thinking of starting a NEW CHANNEL. A separate channel just dedicated to my artwork. My artwork is a hobby, and since I am completely self taught, I want to HELP TEACH others some of the techniques of drawing that I have learned. I also want to show off the portraits I do since I love watching faces appear from a blank sheet of paper. I plan to do LIVE STREAMS where you can interact with me, ask questions, all while I am drawing pictures. I think that would be fun. It will be a very INTERACTIVE channel, so those who may like me for my personality (anyone? anyone? LOL) may still find that channel entertaining, even if you're not big into art.
At the same time, I will keep the StogieFarts channel alive and active for anything non-art related. Anything related to pipe smoking or outside activities will be kept here.
I think splitting myself amongst two channels will make the most sense for my subscribers and the content I publish (however frequent that may be).
In the end, I am still in the very real dilemma of trying to divide my time between my online retail company and my hobbies. After all, it's one thing to draw or smoke a pipe in my free time. It's a completely different monster to FILM and EDIT a video of those activities for a YouTube channel. It turns the HOBBY into a second JOB, and that is my biggest struggle. Those of you who have your own channels for any length of time will know exactly what I am talking about here.
So the plan is this: sometime in the near future, I will be creating a new channel which will be focused on my art. I will post a video here (on the Stogiefarts channel) to announce it, so that (hopefully) you will want to subscribe to it. And moving forward, whenever I want to post VLOG style videos of myself while pipe smoking, those will be kept here on this channel...…….and at the same time, my artistic side can be featured on it's own channel.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. This is something I plan to implement in 2019, and I hope you all have a great Christmas holiday.

I totally apologize for my last video (Episode #3 of Chat and Draw LIVE). I was so proud of the interaction we all had, and how great the drawing turned out.....only to realize that my damn microphone wasn't plugged in correctly during the entire stream!
I'm uploading the time lapse video of the entire drawing right now, so in case you missed it, you can see how it came to life in that new video.
And finally, I am super motivated to start another episode shortly to make up for the mistakes I have made.
Looking forward to seeing you guys be a part of the episode by stopping by!
