The judicial system is not blind. There is no such thing as Perfect Justice; must keep the faith, hope and love to achieve justice. Racial injustice including slavery started in the New World on or about August 20, 1619. Slavery did not end when the U.S. Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776. The Emancipation Proclamation issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, had established that all enslaved people in Confederate states in rebellion against the Union âshall be then, thenceforward, and forever free.â It wasn't until June 19, 1865 ("Juneteenth") when the Federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to take control of the State and ensure all enslaved people be freed. Through the goodwill of others, slavery was eventually abolished. On December 18, 1865, the 13th Amendment was adopted as part of the United States Constitution. The amendment officially abolished slavery, and immediately freed more than 100,000 enslaved people, from Kentucky to Delaware.
