Our perception of reality, or truth, is shaped by our learning, life experiences, and the conclusions we draw. But what if our conclusions are flawed, our facts incorrect, or our life experiences limited? The result is a unique perspective that may hinder our goal attainment and relationship building. It is through an ongoing openness to confront the Reality of truth that we can fully realize our potential.
Performance coaching emerged as a profession because individuals sought a relationship where they could feel secure. A space where they could be vulnerable without the fear of job loss. A place where they could address both the task and emotional aspects of career building. A conversation that was adult-to-adult rather than critical parent-to-child. This relationship of mutual respect facilitates the exploration of truth and, consequently, the steps needed to achieve desired goals.
