In January of 2020 I decided to start a YouTube channel called Firefighter Golf. My mission with the channel and the social media blitz is to bring awareness to mental health issues for first responders and use the game of golf to help decompress and recalibrate. The Firefighter Golf brand grew into a foundation called the First Responder Golf Foundation. We have now changed the channel name to FIRST RESPONDER GOLF to have all first responders feel welcome.
My name is Steve Pope and I have been a Firefighter for the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department for 27 years. I am an avid golfer who wants to grow the game of golf with this channel while also bringing awareness to mental health.
