The F1 video is almost ready--I've had to film it in a few parts because I haven't been feeling fantastic and need breaks, so I might end up releasing a two-parter in order to get Part 1 out faster. The editing is also a little tricky because my friendly neighborhood cicadas are all worked up and partying, but they are so cute and spirited I can't be mad. I hope you are all enjoying the last bits of summer and I'll be back very soon.

A lifelong dream came true today: spending time with the rescued foxes at www.jabcecc.org/
This rescue does wonderful work saving foxes and other canids from bleak, abysmal environments and educating the public on animal stewardship. I was able to pet this beautiful foxy girl Lena because she is a tamed fox ambassador, but please remember that foxes are wild and not suitable pets.
If you are ever near San Diego, you might consider visiting and supporting their work! They have recently taken in new foxes from the Save A Fox rescue, as well as fur farms and labs around the world. They emphasize animal comfort and safety above all else and avoid pressure to have foxes perform or entertain. I want to thank them for the good work they do and for letting our family observe their rambunctious, joyful, and very loved foxes. And I want to thank my family for making my dreams come true, today, and every day. 🦊🥰

Some feelings are sad beyond language. My thoughts are with Mikayla's family and friends as they grieve this unimaginable loss. Please do me this favor: should you feel moved to act cruelly, to attack, or to dehumanize because it seems funny, it seems inconsequential, it seems like the person on the other end should be able to handle it, don't think of how it would make you feel. Rather, think of how you would feel if someone did it to the person you love most in this life. We ought protect one another like our children, our parents, like our siblings, and our pets. We ought consider one another like beating hearts and not made-up characters or adversaries. You do not have to be a perfect person. You may act in anger or petulance. You may say things you regret. But the more you make it a habit to see the people around you like you see those you love, the more you build a safer world for those you would protect. There is too much war, too much hostility, too much anger to bear sometimes. But taking it out on one another is reckless and strips the trust and the hope and the heart out of it all.

After reviewing it myself and getting confirmation from a couple listeners, I chose to re-edit and upload a much softer version of my Study Session Roleplay with fewer harsh paper sounds. I was surprised and dissatisfied with the loudness of the paper sounds and should have trusted that instinct to begin with, but it can be hard to judge when you listen to something ten times in a row. I hope you’ll enjoy this new and (to my mind) improved, softer version of the video. And if you did enjoy the original with all the paper shuffling, I’ll leave it unlisted at the link below. As for me I'm reading Prophet Song by Paul Lynch, re-watching Andor Season 1 because I just can't cope with it being over, listening to the newest album from Doves called Constellations for the Lonely, and absolutely adoring Expedition 33, which feels like a love song to the turn-based RPGs of my youth and is proof positive that new IPs from small studios deserve our attention.
