The past few days have been chilly here ❄️, so Yggdrasil has been bundled up in his warm blanket 🐴🧣. He’s definitely feeling the cold more this year. Unfortunately, there’s no new information about his diagnosis.
At Yggdrasil’s last checkup, the vet mentioned that something in his feet might be causing his soreness on the circle (sore on one front going one way, the other front going the other way) . She thought it was a separate issue from any neurological signs.
A few weeks ago, the farrier happened to be at the barn while I was there, even though Yggdrasil wasn’t scheduled for shoes that day. I’d mentioned his soreness on a circle before, but the farrier hadn’t seen it until this time, when he watched Yggdrasil lunge. He recommended trying pads and suggested adding them at Yggdrasil’s next shoeing.
The pads were just put on a few days ago, and it might take a few weeks to see if they make a difference. 🤞 We’ll see how it goes! 🐎✨

Vet recheck exam yesterday. My boi isn't feeling well (or as the vet put it, something is going on with him). Now the vet is saying it might not be EPM after all (since his EPM meds hasn't worked). As a side note, sometimes some EPM meds work, others doesn't, but this wasn't mentioned. Vet didn't see the improvement we and barn staff has seen. They lunged him on a circle, but they could only get him to canter one way (and that wasn't a smooth canter because well there's something wrong). Going to the left he's lame/sore on one front leg. Going to the right, he's lame/sore on the other leg. He was just seen by the farrier less than a week before and farrier said everything looked good.
I'll be trying to upload videos in the different categories soon again. Just wanted to give you an update on Yggdrasil.

I'm posting a lot of videos today. Trying to catch up on Yggdrasil's progress videos. This is for a few reasons. 1. I want to get caught up on it. Naming the videos can be a little tricky, but I'm trying to figure it out. That way maybe timeline is a little easier to follow. 2. Vets sometimes think it's helpful to see videos of him, so I'm trying to have not just older but more recent videos up right now.
Ok I should have the videos uploaded by now. Not fancy videos, just update videos on him.
Yggdrasil got stung by some bugs this weekend, and reacted to those. He's doing okay now, but he's taking it easy for a few days.

I thought my horse was worse the other day... extra reluctant to go to the right again, and at a trot (groundwork) almost stumbled with his hind legs, did a mini rear and insane head shaking... He calmed down within a few seconds, came to snuggle up and told me to hop on bareback (I didn't). Now I don't know. Maybe it's just a temporary setback. I told barn staff that he seemed worse, that he was in a mood and might be silly for turnout... I'm not always updated on these things (I get that they don't have time to update every horse owner about their horses all the time), so I do ask sometimes...
Turned out, that for one of them, he's usually fine. For the other two... They said he was quite "wild" that night for turnout. Head shaking, not standing still and then bolting, running, and bucking (😮😮😮)... And apparently this is what he usually does for them 😮. Such a rascal LOL. Ok, seriously though, he can't be acting like that for the barn staff (any of them), so I worked with him on it and I was told he was about perfect for turnout later that day. So I guess this means he's actually better overall? I wasn't told if he stumbled or anything or if the "bucking," was really his rodeo bronc style along with the insane headshaking or just regular bucking (there is indeed a difference as it pertains to him), so I'm not sure.
Yes, this is the same horse that will putz around with me at a walk and then insist I should just hop on bareback...
The alternate treatment and the rehab exercises continue..... I have some videos I'm working on. I don't have a GoPro and can't really prop up my phone, so a lot of the videos are closeup, especially since Yggdrasil usually wants to be close to me. The times I have tried to prop my phone up on something, Yggdrasil is very quick to investigate and bumps the phone because well, as you can see, he likes his closeups.

Hey everyone,
I got a few more videos posted. I'm still working on getting some videos up that are already recorded (some from trainings earlier in August). With the heat and humidity Yggdrasil is getting to just take it easy all day while I work on things here at home. There will also be some more videos incoming related to gaming and another barn cat video possibly this week too.
