The world’s population is approaching 8 billion and continues to grow. On the other hand, the global animal population has declined by an average of 69 percent since the 1970s. Habitat destruction due to human activity is likely the main cause of this decline. Animals are our roommates, sharing this planet we call Earth. We must respect their space and carefully plan to preserve the delicate balance of nature.
