Doordarshan Kendra Mumbai came into the telecast map of India on 2nd October, 1972. Doordarshan is the only public service broadcaster of the country and DDK Mumbai is the second largest establishment in the network which produces and telecasts 24 hours Programmes for DD Sahyadri and also contributes through its diverse programming to educate, entertain and inform all strata of society in the state of Maharashtra and Marathi population around the world.
