Yog is a way of living and not meant to be done just for few hours. This is the statement you might have heard several times. But of course this is absolutely right. Patanjali Maharishi, the Father of Yog has elaborated the in- depth meaning of Yog to be the reduction & removal of the modulations/Vrittis of our Mind .Amongst the total of 156 sutras( four chapters) given by him in Yoga Sutras ,the sacred text of Yog, there are only 3 sutras dedicated to Asanas and that too just explaining the meaning of it. Yog therefore deals with the flexibility of the Mind rather than the flexibility of the body ( as described by the Gurus).
