I invite the Canyon Faithful into a September experiment. The pop-ups on the dashboard continue to assault me with promises of "increased revenue" from mid-rolls, so for at least the first week of the month (Sept 1-8) I will be manually inserting (snort) a single ad break at the "transition" from indoors to out to see if it has <any> impact whatsoever on daily revenue. They're claiming increases of up to 33%, so I mean-- I at least gotta try, right?
If the increase isn't what I would classify as significant, it won't continue. I disabled ads altogether during the livestreams, but I think they are all still ad-eligible if you watch them later. I have no idea how "post stream monitization" works. So I hope it's not too disruptive, though all of the Premium folks won't notice anything different. Views are down, engagement is down, affiliate interaction is down... it's all down. And dadgummit, I wanna buy a lighter tripod, because this massive tank I haul around for Camera #1 is physically killing me. I hate that it means mid-roll (maybe) because I don't like them myself-- but it is just the one. I'm trying to convince myself here.
I think if left to their own devices, YT will pepper the video with ads-- I think they'd try to squeeze 5-6 into a 40-minute video. That is absolutely not happening.

The schedule is decided (for me, not <by> me) so my second day of contractually obligated Anime Expo attendance is today, July 5th. That means no livestream today (unless people are hungry for a handheld, haphazard view of the inside of a <very> crowded LA Convention Center.) If there seems to be any interest at all, this week's stream will move to Saturday July 6 at noon Pacific, unless people are busy for the holiday weekend.

Fort anyone curious, I picked up a Hobbywing Multifunction LCD Program Box Pro to give it a little test, enticed by the support for "some Quicrun models." Well, I don't know which ones those might be, because the box doesn't work with 1080, 1080 G2, Fusion SE, Fusion Pro, 10BL60, 10BL120, or the AXE V2 in BT mode (as a bridge, apparently?). So I'm guessing only the pro models, like the XR10? Regardless, I can only get it to work as a cell checker, and 40 bucks is a bit steep for that application. Just FYI.
