MY PRAYER CLOSET
How it started vs. how itās going. I woke up at 5 am this past Sunday morning and went into my closet to pray. I had been procrastinating for months about cleaning up the area and designating the space to God as a meeting place. Itās hard to pray in a mess so I was struggling every time i went in there if I can just be honest.
A few months back I had my friend who is an interior decorator come in and look at the space and I shared with her what I envisioned the space to be. But then I didnāt push it ..I had it painted and did NOTHING else. I didnāt even call her to follow up. I donāt know but something was hindering me mentally. I talked to my therapist about it and she told me that I needed to create the space myself. I was like I donāt know..but inwardly I listened but continued to procrastinate. Over time, instead of praying in there I started putting stuff all over the place. But Sunday something shifted in my mindā¦As I was sitting on my pillow on the floor in my messy closet I said to myself today Iām going to do this. I made a decision to declutter and decorate. I transformed this space in less than 24 hours and yāall the presence of God is so heavy in this place. My friend walked into it last night and immediately began to cry. I stayed in it until midnight last night crying and worshipping even though I knew I had to be back up at 4 am. I could not pull away because God met me there. Whewā¦He is the God who answers prayer. There is a reason why you may find it difficult to make time for prayer or to create a space just for you and God. Itās because the enemy will always attempt to distract you from your place of power. Your place of power is found in the secret placeā¦the place of prayer. It doesnāt have to be a closet but it needs to be somewhere designated just for you and God. š«¶š½šš½
