in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
seeing funky visuals just before falling asleep is not an uncommon experience! i animated one of these visuals i saw recently (the amount of mental effort to make sure i did not forget the next day was wild). learned about this when i was at the synaesthesia conference earlier this may where they talked about how it's more prevalent in synaesthesia. the moment of clarity i got when they start explaining what hypnagogic and hypnopomic visuals are were so satisfying. another explanation to my unknown experience!
how many of you here also experience this? do they look like the ones i animated?

This latest episode on the podcast is exactly the reason why I always tell people to approach Synaesthesia with curiosity instead of judgement. Be kind. Have empathy.
TW: misdiagnosis, medical trauma

Evie was told from a child to never speak of the colours that she see, otherwise sheāll be sent to a psych ward. When she does vocalise it to a medical professional, she was immediately told that it was schizophrenia. Followed by multiple misdiagnosis after. The amount of push back she gets both medically and academically was shocking.
Awareness and advocacy is extremely important so stories like Evieās happen less.
Also exactly the reason why I started pushing (sometimes hitting back) back whenever I get a comment dismissing synaesthesia and self diagnosis for Synaesthesia, and people using schizophrenia as a way to troll.
Important thing to note: weāre not offended by the schizophrenia condition, it is a complex neurological condition that requires a specific set of needs, respect and help from medical professionals. The problem is the common misdiagnosis by medical professionals and people using it as a way to try to āoffendā us.
Please have a listen. Evieās story is vulnerable and inspiring.

I did it! This Sunday at 12am JST, I will be attempting to guess these shoes solely by their sound with my Synaesthesia. Inspired by a true story (of myself) telling my best friend I knew it was her coming home and what shoe she had on by the how the sound of her footsteps looked like to me. I honestly forgot I ever said that until she reminded me lol Letās see if I can do it again!

Been trying to get this long form edit out for the longest time but Brain had been saying no to it. So, I'm now telling you guys that I will be releasing it this Sunday at midnight JPN time.
Now I'm scared enough for Brain to cooperate. Any guesses what the long form will be about? :)

Wasn't kidding when I said I would fall asleep anywhere when I'm overstimulated. Only the last picture was me sleeping in my own bed.

The ADHD consultation actually went quite well. The doctor listened to me and answered a lot of my questions and Iāll be getting my assessment tomorrow. Looking forward to it but also kinda nervous since Iām doing this in Japan and not at home in Singapore. The test will be in English but still, a little worried since Iām not on home ground. Faith was slightly restored from the consultation but still a little wobbly. Fingers crossed! š¤š¼
