I'm Rachael Greenland and The Textile Tutor. I'd like to share my love of all things fibre in my tutorial videos where I take you step-by-step through making a variety of pieces in different media, giving gentle guidance to help you develop your skill as well as your confidence.
I learned to sew and knit at an early age from my mother. she encouraged me to play and use my imagination whilst filling in the gaps of knowledge lovingly and with humour. I have stitched, felted, woven dyed, knitted, spun, patchworked, appliquéd and crocheted my way through life.
Like many others, my mental health suffers when I'm not being creative - I get depressed. I have found that just 20 - 30 minutes a day is enough to keep me well, but most days I do a lot more than that!
The videos are made in a way that keeps them simple - no distracting music, simple instructions, and done step-by-step.
