Howdy!
I wanted to peel back the curtain a bit and provide an update on the channel. As it stands I am still very limited in what I am able to create. Finances have gotten a bit tight so I am unable to make videos of the quality I'd like to currently. Whenever I make a video, I like having the rights to the footage I use in the video. It's because of this that I pay for these rights. This has allowed me to be as creative as I'd like over the past few years while avoiding any pesky copyright issues. Now, as a small content creator I am not monetized. These videos are a hobby of mine and I am contributing my own money to make them. Due to some health issues throughout most of the year I've had to cut back on expenses and unfortunately I had to stop paying for my license. While I could still make videos, they'd be of noticeably lesser quality and I don't wish to water down the content. As soon as I have disposable income again, it will be put directly into the channel. I've never stopped enjoying the video making process and my goal is to flood this channel with content again sooner than later.

Going to be experimenting a bit this month with the content while I attempt to get everything back on track. Expect uploads to remain a bit scattered still for now.

During this unfortunate hiatus I have seen a lot of continued engagement on the channel which I greatly appreciate.
I definitely did not plan on pausing uploads and I am excited to put some new videos out again!

Howdy!
There is still a noticeable lack of new videos on the channel. I wanted to quickly put out an explanation regarding that. While not intended in the slightest, I did have to go into a bit of a hiatus. Initially it was due to my health, which resulted in me being unable to record since I lost my voice. Following my recovery from illness, a close family member's illness worsened. I have been prioritizing my family this past month.
As for videos, I still don't wish to put a timeframe on when they will return but I have been writing and recording videos in the little time I've had and the goal remains to get a video out as quickly as possible.
Biology is awesome. Nature is awesome. Ya'll are awesome. See ya soon friends.

Going to resume work on videos. I have no idea where I left off that's how long I've been sick.
Not going to make any promises on when the video will be out because as proven on this channel if a date is set it will end up moved again...but expect something....soon? Soon works

New video was supposed to be out on Monday but I been fighting a nasty cold that has left me mostly bed-ridden. The goal is to have it out sometime mid-week.

I have been on YouTube in various forms since I was a child. It has always been a platform I have loved, but I'd always get burned out after a while. Funky Geckos has been the channel I've worked on the longest and by far the channel I've had the most fun with.
The interaction I have had with all of you has motivated me to keep working on videos. I love digging through research materials, editing in little gags and presenting what I find to you all. While life has gotten busier and I certainly have less time than I had before, I have no plans of stopping. I want to keep putting out videos for years to come.
