Malarkey hahaha, man I'm mad new to this 3D world, and I'm not even doing it to win although that would be awesome too, but folks this IS how we get better. A year ago I was nowhere near where I am today. At first, I thought I would never get as good as some of the folks I've seen. I changed my perspective on that real quick and rather than seeing it as a reason not to participate in challenges like this, I used it as fuel to push myself to get better. So, everything I learn along the way, is like winning. And it's ton of fun too! Don't count yourselves out, it's impossible to get worse the more you do something so just get in there and do it. This time next year, I guarantee you'll look back and be like, dang, i never thought I'd get this good, and you'll even be looking for more ways to improve. The growth is an ongoing process, don't get discouraged, get inspired! Don't be afraid to ask questions or advice from folks in the community, i was in the music space, and I never seen anything like the VFX/CG community. The people in this space are so helpful for the most part. So many people have been instrumental in my journey, Clint included (I totally dig his teaching style!), but find inspiration, challenge yourself, and keep growing your skill sets. You guys got this man, let's do this ya'll!!!!

Hey Clint, lets hope you read comments! a little tip at 3:05:00 or so is just to multiply the Object Scale (node) into the UV. that way, a flat surface that is being used for a wall or floor can scale the object without changing the materials - so you could non-uniformly scale the walls if the UV orientation is right.

I'm a MEGA noob when it comes to this stuff, but I joined the Discord for this challenge, at least that's one step closer to making something. By joining, I learned something very valuable. Don't be afraid to look like you don't know what you are doing.
How did I learn that from joining a Discord server? I had problems getting the animations to work in Blender and I was super afraid to admit it, so I spent hours looking for Tutorials on YT, with no luck. I then bit the bullet and went to the server, and look and behold, I was not the only one!
This quickly lead to a tutorial on the server that another user had made to fix my exact problem!
Love the sense of community on the server, everybody seems to want to share their knowledge and help everybody get the best journey possible <3
