How long does it take to get good at steno? - StenoKeyboards

https://stenokeyboards.com/blogs/posts/how-long-does-it-take-to-get-good-at-steno
May 2021: 149 wpm. This is now after 9 months of stenoing. After the 9 month period the Uni v2 was born and I recorded myself going at 149 wpm on a 60 second test. I was so close to getting 150 wpm! At this point, my muscle memory is quite good and learning new words were arguably easier than learning new words say, four months ago.At this point, I could almost use steno as a daily driver.

Plover doesn't output into Notepad properly #1619 - GitHub

https://github.com/openstenoproject/plover/issues/1619
Running Plover 4.0.0.dev12 on Windows 11. The output into Windows Notepad 'lags' behind what is being typed on the keyboard. Furthe keypresses or mouse movement seems to 'release' the text into Notepad. This happens if I use NKRO with a regular USB keyboard, NKRO with a Picosteno, or serial with a Picosteno. Everything works just fine in Word

The Stenographer's Conundrum: How to Avoid the "Write Perfect and Drop

https://stenokey.com/the-stenographers-conundrum-how-to-avoid-the-write-perfect-and-drop-trap/
The pursuit of the perfect stroke can create a mindset where any errors are seen as failures, which can be discouraging and hinder progress. Additionally, the focus on achieving the perfect stroke can lead to a hesitancy to write and a fear of making mistakes. This hesitancy can slow down a stenographer's writing speed and make it difficult

Appendix: Cheat Sheet - Learn Plover! - Open Steno Project

https://www.openstenoproject.org/learn-plover/appendix-cheat-sheet.html
Prefix/Suffix alternatives are slow and don't address all cases. Don't rely on them. Learn the appropriate prefix or suffix stroke when you can. But here they are anyway: S-P: insert a space after the current word. This prevents it from being included in a multi-stroke word; TK-LS: prevent a space after the current word. This forces Plover to
