I use Ableton for hip hop/electronic stuff. I enjoy it and it makes sense to me. FL didn't appeal to me much. A good portion of MIDI controllers come with an Ableton Live license. If you wanted to you could get the midi controller, try Ableton and if you don't like it buy FL. No money lost, you get to use your midi controller in either Ableton
