You pretty much need a controller or the software editor to use it effectively. You can hook up a desktop Evolver to the rack with 5 voices all slaved to the desktop's knobs. Use it as 5 voice poly, 5 independent monos or whatever combination floats your boat. A used desktop is only about $350 these days.
