I finally got to play a PEK last evening. OMIGOD! What a sound! What a great keybed! I initially dismissed this board as too expensive, too harsh sounding, not enough voices, etc. Well, I was totally wrong. Now I just have to find some piggy banks.

The feel of the encoders on the P'08 and PEK were enough to make me consider the longevity of the synth when I tried them out. ... The DSI stuff sits somewhere inbetween. You'd figure that the Prophet would be a little more expensive than the PEK, based on number of voices, but it's not. Can anyone explain what are some major differences between the two, and justifying the $400 difference. ThanksAlex.

I have a PEK, Not used much. Got the PE upgrade kit a few years ago (which is great) & used it on an album in 2016, but not used it since. When I switch it on now, it displays a sequencer pattern that goes from step 1 through to step 87 & gradually slows down over time, and I cant really use it until this sequence finishes which takes well over

The Voyager is capable of a huge palette of sounds that the model D can only dream of. The controllers and modulation options open up a world of sounds. That´s it. As a machine, the Voyager is way beyond the Minimoog D,- much, much more possibilities. 2 different synths and probably best to have both.
