The field is a funky space, it messes with your mind and body. You do stupid stuff that you wouldn't even try elsewhere. You laugh at situations that would make normal folks cry. Sometimes life sucks in the field and other times it's just a bunch of nerds playing DnD at the end of the duty day.

Picture yourself in the Army. As a Soldier, you'll have responsibilities and requirements to meet. But you'll also be able to pursue your own interests, career goals, and lifestyle. When I became a mom while serving, the one thing that did not change was the stability I get in the Army. Staff Sgt. Ashley Williams.

The infantry soldier is at the top of the heap - the pinnacle of soldiering. The infantry moto is "Follow Me". Every element of the military supports the infantry. Infantrymen are the combat soldiers', whose job is to close with and kill or capture the enemy. They are the warriors.

Our box rotation was 21 days long, and I got stuck on trail leaving. I spent around 40-45 days at NTC. When I got back, I got pressured to submit my rebuttal asap. (like 1-2 days soon). because S1 needed a few days to process it. I gave it a 2LT effort and gave it to my S1. After submitting it, the unit put me on TDY for a few weeks out of state.

Since the army is so god damn vast, it's wildly unpredictable tbh. You can have an amazing unit with dog shit leadership and hate it 100%. You can be at an abysmal unit with stellar leaders who make you see the good in the army. You can have a shit unit with shit leadership and become suicidal or an alcoholic,.

Active: The food is okay and "free", family life will suck, there is the chance to travel greatly. A lot depends on the job you choose, the duty station, and the command you receive at that time. Reserves: Throwing craps has better odds than predicting how it will go for you. 3. Award.

Infantry urban combat. There is probably not a typical day in the army for an infantry soldier, but a day, when not in the field, goes something like this. Get up around 5:30, be in PT (Physical Training) formation at 6:00. PT until 7:00 to 7:30. Back to your room clean up, get in uniform, and get some breakfast.

Share. Typhoon556. • 2 yr. ago. The fact that you are joining the Army means that you might be brighter than the average bulb because it means you can actually pick, and lock in the job you want. If another branch says they can do the same, they are lying. Other branches can promise a career field, but not a job.

Similarly, if you're on social media, look up Pardeep Kaur (IG: british_army_chef_kaur_pardeep). She is on YouTube and Twitter also. She provides a great perspective and insight of being a chef in the British Army. Asking questions about anything you don't understand. Be humble, anyone can teach you something from the driver of a paladin, to the number one man, especially your gunny and smoke. At least skim through doctrine instead of trying to make up the solution. Garrison life is sometimes boring. Firing in the field always makes up for it.

It's unit-dependent. If you go to 1-2 or 2-2 (SBCTs) expect to be doing field work around 120-150 days a year. Sometimes Yakima Training Center (YTC), sometimes National Training Center (NTC), sometimes Fort Hunter-Ligget. I heard a rumor they were sending us to JRTC next year but I don't wanna think about that.

Much simpler. Pack your tshirt, socks, boxers into small freezer zip-lock bags. It keeps the funk out from your dirty shit and allows you a nice little bit of freshness when you peel off your old ones. Always bring enough porno mags to last a four-man team a weak. Medics- Prepare banana bags in advance.

What are your favorite field luxuries? Infantryman here. Everyone has their own indispensable items when they go to the field - for me it's a camp stool, jet boil, and solar charged battery power pack. I have one more 30 day exercise before I PCS from my current duty station, and I want to make it as comfortable as possible.
