Some mods will be updated quickly. Some will take a while. Some will never get updated. Some players will ignore the fact that mods are uploaded by volunteers in their free time and keep asking for updates. Some authors will be able to update their mods so they work for both B41 and B42, others will make a new mod for the B42 version.

You won't be able to play it in B42, but you can always revert to B41 and keep playing your old world that way as long as you like. ... Especially not ones this big. So, while I would wait if it weren't true, I'm going to have to start a new save anyway, so I might as well keep playing. ... Shoutout to the Antibodies mod - If you haven't

B42 This year confirmed. The Modpocalypse is upon us. For there to be life, there must also be death. The Modpocalypse will pave the way for a newer, stronger, Modding Scene. (Stopping the meme for a second: The new crafting system could genuinely turn it into something like Minecraft mods, if you don't care about realism) . The new crafting

You still have plenty of time to enjoy those mods before B42 comes out, because it's still months away. You'll be able to stay in B41 anyway for as long as you want, even after B42 is released in the final branch. But maybe i could keep my character atleast. I suppose there is a mod to remake a new world, and keep your same character.

Provide a framework for players who want to focus more on community building and player interactions than zombie survival. While the zombie apocalypse will always be our core focus for the vanilla game, we want to provide a breadth of survival mechanics and content that, especially with mods, make a solid foundation for many other varied survival experiences outside the looting and zombie

Watch on. Project Zomboid 2023 02 07 12 38 28 1. Watch on. None of the 3d shapes will end up in the game world while playing, but the resultant extra depth texture (seen in the bottom left) can be used with the depth map system to make the characters interact with it as if those 3d shapes were there.

R.I.P for all the hardcore mod user out there. Though some of sound/texture or QoL mods could be still working.

Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. With how big of a change this is, I imagine there will be absolutely no mods that will function without major updates after build 42. I'm guessing it'll be a few weeks before a lot of mods get updated to work. They will all stop functioning.

Animators don't model, modellers don't create textures, and texture artists don't write code. While we can see a bunch of expanded scope for B42, you have to realize that the people coding and implementing the basements do not have the skillset to work on the animal AI. The people who create textures are not skilled in creating the basement code.

42 Techdoid. Hey all, here's a general update from TIS Towers on various things. We do hope this finds y'all well. First off a quick heads-up on the forthcoming 41.66 patch. It's now content locked, and is now receiving required fixes reported by our internal testers. We will look to put it out into a new unstable beta branch as soon as

The drama over B42 is pretty dumb imo. This game has a MASSIVE modding community which makes anything possible. I could be very wrong in saying this (recently came back to PZ) but most of the public B42 features, has a mod that adds said feature? I understand that native support is always best but still. I don't know..

It would be great to play the game as new with decent fps without 400 mods, and since by the time B42 drops, I might actually be good at vanilla pz. Few things imma try out in vanilla would be to base at police station in muld seeing that it would get be furnished in the next update.

Knowing how they work with their releases. I suspect B42 to stay in the beta/iwbums branch for a while before being pushed to the main branch. So I'm sure B42 will be an opt-in before it becomes the standard. And even after releasing, you would still be able to choose the earlier build.

I'm so glad TIS have decided to focus a large chunk of B42 on late game survival. For me this game is the best apocalypse simulator going, even without the zombies. And personally I couldn't care too much for NPC's, I either play with friends co-op or enjoy completely lone survival.

I think I read the same thing. They said that for almost everyone performance would be better, even on low end systems. The trade off is that the floor / absolute minimum requirements will be raised. So if you have a very low end system the game may perform worse with b42 or it may become unplayable.

Honestly i don't understand all the drama in the community. Sure a new version with new features would be great but i love my 360+ mods savegame very very much right now. Give them all the time they need and while you wait there are either mods to keep the game interesting or even other games.
