With Optinoob's guides I didn't find any of Rebirth's challenges to be insurmountable, but they were definitely still difficult. If you've beaten Hell House, Three-Person Team vs. Top Secrets, Weiss the Immaculate, the giant Whisper boss, and Sephiroth on hard mode in Remake, you should be able to beat all the combat challenges in Rebirth.
