Data from the FBI show that in the US in 2015, there were about 1.2 million violent crimes and about 8 million property crimes. Raw numbers aren't terribly helpful, though, so we can turn these into crime rates - in the case of 2015, that would be 372.6 violent crimes per 100,000 people and 2,487 property crimes per 100,000 people.
