The penalty is reduced compared to comp because obviously the stakes are lower - a loss has significantly lower impact on you and the people you're playing with. That doesn't mean that every game mode outside of comp is just intended to be a leaver paradise. The penalty exists for a reason.

I understand the reasoning for blizzard implementing these changes as leavers in quick play were quite a big problem before the change was implemented. However I think this change would be much better off in compeditive, hear me out.

Now that they implemented the 5sec wait time and penalties, quick play is a lot more bearable and there are less people leaving, MEANING THEY CAN PLAY THE GAME. It doesn't matter if "it's only quick play", you ruin and waste other people's times by leaving mid match so don't people surprised if you get penalized for that.

Every single person is trying. But people nagging in the casual mode of the game aren't looking for reasonable logic, they want to take their anger out on someone. Their inability to cope with their frustration as you learn is not your problem, it's theirs.

Quick play is still a competition. There are two teams in every game, one wins, the other loses. People, unsurprisingly, get competitive in competitions. Even the devs have said that its a sweaty game mode. Overwatch doesn't have a "casual" mode outside of skirmish and some custom lobbies.

I want to try again and see how it goes, but I assume it either gotten worse or it didn't change.
