Most of the time it feels like single player with not much interaction between players, but you can try out some dlc by joining another player that has it. And don't forget the Bears! This is a tough list for me to really narrow down, probably easier to say what I don't like to hunt. Whitetail Deer, Rocky Mountain Elk, Red Deer, Lions & Gemsbok. Finally found the Great One!!... then failed the harvest check :- (. So after grinding Whitetails on Layton Lakes for about a month, killing 50-100 bucks per day, I finally found my Great One. I have patience as long as the game is engaging and fun. I would say definitely engaging, and depends on what you consider fun. If you are unsure, test your patience, as there is usually a really good sale on the game. Or check humble bundle. I think i got the game and some reserves/DLC from a bundle. #8.

I think part of the issue here might be that everybody knows the best builds for their weapons, and uses objectively good stuff all the time, so combat will feel a little easier than the old games, e.g. 4U, when all the menus and abilities were so complicated a spaceflight engineer couldn't figure out which buttons do what.
