The difference between aiming with a mouse and a controller is worlds apart. Cross play is pretty unfair...SUPPORT US ON PATREON - https://bit.ly/36Hg7ZYALL

Imagine playing any shooter, but instead of a mouse, you are given a flight simulator joystick to use to try and aim. That's how it feels to play on controller without any aim assist. Stop saying "aim assist is auto-aim/aim-bot". It's been a thing in almost every single console shooter since the first Halo 20 years ago.

The reason for the stiff/slow on console is the aim assist at work, which is the topic at hand. The way aim assist works in console is it slows down your reticle movement so that you can line up your shots more easily. It does come with the downside of affecting your turn speed. Quick 180s on console are difficult.

Blizzard explained how cross-play and cross-progression will work in Overwatch 2, leaving many controller players disappointed. Overwatch 2 will fuse the existing player bases by allowing cross-platform interaction, which brings its own challenges. With the AMA on Reddit, Blizzard elaborated on how all of this will work.

Overwatch 2 players have discovered that the game disables aim assist for controller users during crossplay, rekindling the debate over input-based matchmaking. Players using the precision of a

I have not researched this but I am going to go on a limb and guess console/troller players have aim assist? I re-read the question, I am so dumb. Of course they do, how else would this be crossplay. I matched in 4 fights, all console players landed all shots and had impeccable tracking and snapped directly to my neck center mass area, which would impossible in low rank controllers without aim

"Overwatch 2 having cross play enabled by default but controller players getting no aim assist of any kind is fucked up lol ... you are given a flight simulator joystick to use to try and aim.

One of the reasons: As long as console players can use xim to play mouse and keyboard and join cross play, the aim assist should never be enabled. ... It feels significantly worse to try and aim on a controller without aim assist, and it's not being introduced into competitive. I'm barely diamond and I get matched up with tendies players fairly

Even with aim assist it's not even ground, mouse would still have the advantage. Only slightly less than the huge advantage they have without it. There's a reason crossplay is console into pc lobbies and not also pc into console lobbies. Because even with AA, the players using mouse will always have the advantage over the players using

Cross-play with aim assist is still new territory, and I think the OW Devs are just trying to be careful about it. I think they have to be very careful with it. Aim settings on console are already pretty clunky compared to other fps. Idk If they could handle fixing that for OW2 along with the extra burden of managing aim assist vs pc players
https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/nwq9gz/why_not_aim_assist_with_pc_crossplay/
TL:DR I think aim assist should be enabled for console players during pc crossplay because OW aim assist isnt a big deal. PC gamers are just so salty. Cross play will be unplayable without aim assist . Or add official kbm support. As and Xbox gone PC player it makes 0 since why aim assist is turned off.

if u play with other console players i think aim assist will still work its only disabled if u play with PC. Hell no this'll be so unfair. Crossplay in general is going to be ridiculously unfair. You have platforms where most of the playerbase is using controller, being matched up with people using mouse and keyboard.
